Corry Evans to Miss FA Cup Clash with Manchester United
Blackburn manager Owen Coyle admitted that his squad is still remains stretched as a result of a number of players being on the sidelines.
Blackburn are preparing for the FA Cup game against Manchester United this weekend. The club are hoping to create yet another upset in the FA Cup this season. There have already been some massive upsets with the likes of Lincoln City and Sutton United managing to reach the fifth round of the competition. It is the first time to nonleague clubs have reached the stage of the competition for several decades.
Manchester United are already concerned about a lot of fixtures piling up as a result of their progression into the Europa League, EFL Cup, and FA Cup. Even then, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he intends to come to Ewood Park with a strong team. The Portuguese manager says that he has learned the lessons of taking a competition too lightly.
Hence, Blackburn are expected to have a tough game on their hands. Manager Owen Coyle will have to do without star players like Corry Evans, who may have returned from the treatment table but he is still not 100% fit to start a game of this magnitude.
Elliott Ward, Adam Henley, and Lucas Joao will be several of the players unavailable for Owen Coyle."It is disappointing because we've got three great lads and very good players unavailable through the circumstances of the night.I really feel for the lads as it hurts them personally and it also hurts the team.We want every player available so we are able to choose our strongest team. When things get taken away from you because of what's happened it is difficult to take. But it is what it is and we have to get on with it. They'll be there to encourage and support their team-mates,” said Coyle.
