Corry Evans Looking Forward to Coming up againstRudy Gestede

Corry Evans says that he is looking forward to coming up againstRudy Gestede, who was once a favourite at Blackburn Rovers.

Even though he spent only 18 months at the club, the Benin international managed to score in every other game for the club before moving to Aston Villa for a £6 million fee in the summer transfer window of 2015.Gestede has never been able to settle at Villa, and many think that his best time in English football was with Blackburn. The player will be coming up against his former teammates including Evans.

Even though he has not been in the best form of late, the Northern Ireland defender reckons that Blackburn Rovers should not make the mistake of taking Rudy Gestede lightly. He has already found the back of the net three times this season, and Evans says that all Blackburn players who played with the 28-year-old will be aware of his qualities.Gestede’s ambition to play in the Premier League did not last for long, as Villa were relegated into the Championship just one year after he moved to the club.

Evans has even gone on to state that Gestede would probably be the best header of the ball he had played with.

"Rudy is a great fella. He got on with everyone - all the players, all the staff and everyone around the training ground. He had a real rapport with the fans.He came in and took the place by storm with the way he played. It was like Craig Conway crossed the ball and Rudy would score, that was the way we were scoring our goals at one stage.Fair play to him. He came in and did the business, and got a move to the Premier League,” said the Blackburn Rovers defender.
