EURO 2020: CORRY EVANS MISSES OUT

Corry Evans will miss the Northern Ireland clash against Slovakia through injury. It is a big blow for the team ahead of Thursday's Euro 2020 qualifying play-off game. Blackburn Rovers has said the 30-year-old would not participate in the Northern Ireland squad following the injury he sustained in the early moments of their 3-1 win against QPR on Saturday, 7th November. He will also lose out on the Nations League fixtures against Austria and Romania.

Tony Mowbray, Blackburn Rovers coach, said that Corry could face a long period out, a new blow for the midfielder who missed most of the second half of last season through injury. Mowbray believes that Corry has damaged his hamstring early in the match, which is a huge loss to the squad. He added that the club would get him scanned. In the post-match interview, Mowbray thinks that Corry was upset about the injury due to the massive game for Northern Ireland, and now he can't go because it doesn't look like a minor hamstring injury.

In another vein, Leicester City defender Jonny Evans is expected to be available for Northern Ireland's play-off final against Slovakia after missing two games for Leicester through a back injury.
